How long have you been blogging and what made you start?

I have been blogging since September 2014. I first started my blog because I was active on some money-making forums online and people would ask me questions multiple times a day. I’m always happy to help nice people, and share my own knowledge, so I decided to start a blog.

What do you wish you had known before you started?

How to carry out good SEO. I only learned about it back in late 2015 and I’ve had a small baby so I’ve been low on time to go back and edit 100s of posts. Slowly getting there now!

What one tip would you give to a new blogger?

Don’t worry about finding a ‘tribe’ of bloggers to speak to. In time you will learn who is worth your time and who isn’t.

What is the most surprising thing you have learned since you started blogging?

How much money can be made blogging.

What is the best thing about blogging?

Besides the money (which allows me to stay home with my daughter) it would have to be the ability to reach people and help them. I love that.

What new skills have you learned since you started blogging?

I’ve learned how to multi-task and be organised. Also I’ve learned about SEO, taking nice photographs (not that I’m very good at implementing tips!) and how to better engage with people.

What is the most unusual thing you have done/received because of blogging?

Talking on the radio and being in the newspaper are pretty unusual things I’ve done!

What has been your proudest blogging achievement so far?

It would have to be when I receive messages from people telling me that they have been able to afford a holiday, or they have actioned some advice I have offered and it has been positive. I wanted my blog to help others and I feel really proud when it does.

What is your blogging goal for the next year?

To double my traffic and finally finish updating all of my old posts!

What will you be doing in 5 years time?

I would love to be blogging still and helping more people save money.

Will we see you at a BlogOn event this year?

Yes! I was online the moment the tickets went on sale. I love Blog On and even planned my holiday around the dates this year to ensure that I can attend.

If Yes, What do you hope to learn more about at BlogOn?

I would love to learn more about growing my social media and taking better photographs.

If you enjoyed this why not check out last weeks Meet the Blogger The Family Patch.
