How long have you been blogging and what made you start?

I’m just coming up to a year blogging so it’s almost my first Blovgversary! I’ve always had a good eye for customer service and it had become a standing joke among friends and family that wherever I went I would always end up coming back with free this and free that, complimentary stays, free meals or refunds. However I’m not a complainer, I don’t comment on customer service for what I can get. That’s not what I’m about. I just want to make companies think more about the quality of service they provide.  A friend of mine just joked one day that I should write a customer service blog, as she loved hearing about all my experiences. So I looked into it and I started writing.

What do you wish you had known before you started?

I’m still learning even now. There’s just so much to blogging than I would ever have thought and sometimes it can be really overwhelming. In hindsight, I would have liked more time to get my head around all the technical aspects of creating a blog, as it was an awful lot to take in at once.

What one tip would you give to a new blogger?

Don’t try to run before you can walk. It takes time and you have to be patient. This is not something I excel at unfortunately.

What is the most surprising thing you have learned since you started blogging?

That I can write better than I thought! I suffer from MS and it causes me real problems with concentration so getting focussed and finding the right words is always quite difficult. However, so far, so good! Mum said to me recently that am ‘writing like a pro now’ so that’s given me a real confidence boost!

What is the best thing about blogging?

All the great opportunities I’ve had. Not only to meet some amazingly talented people, as the blogging world is full of them, but also to take part in some fabulous blogger events. One of my aims is to become a freelance writer and since I started the blog, I’ve been lucky enough to be able to write for WhichUK which I was really excited about.

What new skills have you learned since you started blogging?

How to use WordPress, understand SEO and the ins and outs of other social media platforms apart from Facebook which was the only one I had ever used before.

What is the most unusual thing you have done/received because of blogging?

To be honest, everything has been very lovely so far, not really anything unusual. However there’s still time!

What has been your proudest blogging achievement so far?

The March edition of Cotswold Life magazine included a 3-page article I wrote featuring the 5 best places for customer service in the Cotswolds! What an achievement, still can’t quite believe it!

What is your blogging goal for the next year?

Write a book and self publish it.

What will you be doing in 5 years time?

The plan is to be a successful freelance writer and customer service consultant- and author!

Will we see you at a BlogOn event this year?

YES definitely!

If Yes, What do you hope to learn more about at BlogOn?

Looking forward to making a lot more blogging friends and learning even more skills! Last year I had just launched the blog so think this year, I’ll be able to take more in.
