BlogOn Toy Awards FAQS

When do the awards open for entries?

The BlogOn Toy Awards open for entry in June 2023

How much does it cost to enter the awards?

The BlogOn Toy Awards cost just £10 per entry. This admin fee helps to cover the cost involved in running the awards whilst ensuring that everyone can enter no matter what their marketing budget restrictions

When is the closing date for entries?

Entries close at midnight on 30th September 2022.

Will I need to send samples in? And if so, will I get them back?

You will need to send your samples to arrive by 7th October. Your toy cannot be considered for judging if the samples are not received. We cannot return any sample products.

Why do you need two samples?

When judging the awards we also take into consideration the packaging of the item. By asking for two samples we can display one in its packaging and one out of its packaging.

What do you do with the samples after the event?

The sample that we open is donated to charity if appropriate. If the sample can not be donated for whatever reason we look to rehome it in settings such as schools. If we can’t do that then we will find it a different home. We do not throw away any of the items donated unless absolutely necessary such as a one-use item.

The second sample that is still in its packaging is placed in a raffle at the event. This year the raffle will be in aid of the Toy Trust.

How will the awards be judged?

Entries will be judged on 21st October 2023, by kids and parent influencers from around the UK

How do I know which category to enter?

Have a look at the list of categories. There may be several categories that suit the toy you wish to enter. You may enter your toy in as many categories as you like but you must send two samples per entry

I can’t decide which category to enter. Can I talk to someone on the BlogOn Toy Awards team?

Yes, of course! We’re more than happy to discuss which category is right for your toy. Please feel free to email Laura@Blogonconference.com

How many categories can I enter in the BlogOn Toy Awards?

You can enter as many categories as you wish. If you wish to enter multiple categories you must send two samples per product per category.

Does exhibiting at the event make a difference?

We have found that having your product available at the event does helps to increase the likelihood of an award. If you can not exhibit why not speak to the Good Play Guide regarding their demo zone.

I can’t exhibit at the event is there a way for my product to be demonstrated?

This year’s BlogOn Xmas will be home to the Good Play Guide Demo Zone where Dr Gummer and her expert team will be able to demo your toys and games.  Email marketing@goodplayguide.com for more information on how to get involved.

My toy’s not on sale yet can I still enter it?

All toys entered into the BlogOn Toy Awards 2023 must be available to purchase in the UK on or before 21st October AND you must be able to supply 2 samples of your product for testing preferably by 7th October. If you have a new launch that will be on sale on 21st October but you might have difficulties with the delivery date of the 7th October please get in touch. Your toy cannot be considered for judging if a sample is not received.

What happens if I win?

If you are shortlisted or judged to be a winner in the BlogOn Toy Awards 2023, you will be given a BlogOn Toy Awards 2023 digital badge and a certificate, which can be used for a range of marketing and packaging activities. All winners will also be featured in showcase editorial content on BlogOnUK.com, timed for publication at the peak of Christmas-gift search traffic, and supported by social-media promotion. We will also issue a press release to the trade.

When will I find out if I’ve won?

We will announce the winners on 23rd October on social media, and within a few days via email. A full list of winners will also be posted to the website and shared on our Instagram account.

Can I get feedback about my entry?

Due to the large size of the awards, we’re afraid we cannot provide individual feedback for any entries. If you want to know what attendees think of your product you should consider exhibiting at the event.

My question isn’t listed here. Who can I ask about it?
